Thoughts

Grandad it's been 3 weeks tomorrow since you grew your wings, I'm still very much struggling to accept you have gone to be with nanna and I'm heartbroken. You were an amazing grandad and always their for me and Sophie. You were one of a kind, I will miss hearing you talk about your memories of life when you were younger, your jokes used to make us laugh and so did when you misheard everything. You have done so much for me over the years and I can not thank you enough. I have so many memories to look back on that I will never forget, especially the time you cooked me a pizza and didn't remove the cellophane and we didn't realise until half way through eating it. Your face used to light up with your lovely smile when you talked of the past and I will miss that so much and the chats we had. You would always tell me to get a cup of tea and sometimes spoiled me with a little glass of Baily's. Sophie used to enjoy sharing your chocolates and ice-cream and you teaching her German. I know as you got older you needed a bit more help, I hope I did enough for you to make things a little easier for you, I would have done anything for you just as you did for me. I hope you know how much you are loved and how much you will be missed. There's so much more I could say but I would probably run out of room. Give nanna a hug from me. Sleep tight grandad love you soooo much 💖 Sophie said to tell you ich liebe dich great grandad Eric xxxxxxx

Grandad... we are all going to miss you so much and we all hold such lovely and special memories in our hearts that will never fade ❤. We are so blessed to be carrying a piece of you within who we are today. Thank you for my creativity which personally inspired my drawing, painting, carving and the encouragement you gave me to sit and draw my first ever proper picture. You also placed a guitar in my hands and created a musician which ironically surrounded me with cables (just like you). I enjoyed sending the occasional meals on wheels to you and video calls that ended up being a football conversation between you and Ian. Your endless talents, sense of humour, wit, charm, interests and even that smile and sparkle in your eye, will live on within us all. Love and miss you Grandad, love from Tracy.
